Katsucon Art Show

While at Katsucon, I took advantage of some extra time in between panels and photoshoots to check out the art show.  There was a lot of amazing art pieces on display.  I don’t say paintings or prints because the bulk of the show was things built by other people.  There was about 6-7 different models people put together, I highly enjoyed the Star Ship Enterprise, it was highly detailed and looks like it took a lot of time to complete.  Seeing something like that makes you appreciate someone else’s talent.

There was also jewelry pieces, painted glass as well etched glass, which both of those looked like they took a lot of patience and a steady hand.  Knowing my own hands and how they shake all the time, I know that took a lot of talent and time to create.  I am really jealous of those with the talent to etch glass and that take the time to sit and make sure every line is perfect because you can’t just delete the mistake and redo it.

The art-work (paintings, drawings prints etc) were beautiful as always.  I was really impressed with a pencil drawing Edward from Full Metal.  It was very well done and had very little color to it, which drew my eyes immediately because it was one of few that was….simplistic, but I don’t want say simplistic because it was beyond simplistic.  I regret on writing down the artists name because it was an amazing drawing with so much detail in it.

There were numerous prints of different renditions of Sword Art Online, Pokemon, and numerous personal designs.  Everything was well done and beautiful.   I hope that every artist that had their work in the show sold something and got numerous compliments on their work, because it is well deserved.  My compliments to all the artists who had the courage to put their art in the art show, it was all amazing.
